One of my favorite things to do is discover old buildings that have been abandoned along with the equipment that was once used in a business that no longer exists. Almost always, these moments are best captured for me in black and white.

“Gilbert the One-Legged Seagull” I’m walking along the beach, looking for something to shoot, and suddenly I see Gilbert standing there on a picnic table on one leg as though that’s what all seagulls do. And, I find out, they do. Gilbert!
